Do you hear, feel and see the dawning of a new day when the Sun touches you in the morning. There are so many times I wake up and feel that the sun herself stood over me and opened my curtains. It is with much resistance that I get up early in the morning. But I have learned that when I do, my day is clearer. I hear more and see more. I even think more clearly.
Here is a poem I wrote one early morning while looking out of my bedroom window....... That night I remember dreaming about the sun. Do you hear what I hear?
As I sit here and ponder the cries of yesterday
I realize that my demise has simply slipped away
The sun woke me this morning with a smile upon her face
peeking in my eyes with rays of tenderness and grace
As her warmth wrapped ‘round me I lost all sense of time
She drew me forth with inner strength and I began to rise
She sat me at her clouded table and I opened up my eyes
She then pulled back the tablecloth for me to realize
Her silent understanding stood and touched my cheek
I afraid to open up my eyes, decided, to take a peek
Gazing down upon the land that I call my home
saw tiny specks of remnants of things I thought I owned
I dropped my hands and my mouth, amazement gripped my heart
But my sure sun stopped me, before the fear could start
She tapped my shoulder with brighter ray
And Said “See your problems from this perspective, if only for a day’
Awaking from sedated sleep, sun still on my face
I looked at her with awe again marveling at her grace
Then my day began, a fitful storm in sight
When my friend tapped me again and helped me remember right
I pulled back the clouded cloth that had surrounded me and
suddenly without warning I could clearly see
My problem or just a remnant of something passing nigh
like flashing fitful clouds then suddenly, clear sky
THIS TOO SHALL PASS
problems greet us with different levels of intensity
how we overcome is often how we see
this too shall pass..............................
